Josip Broz Tito

Yugoslav Partisan leader and post-war head of state who held a multi-ethnic federation together for 35 years. Broke with Stalin in 1948 and later co-founded the Non-Aligned Movement; Yugoslavia began to break apart about a decade after his death.
