1974 · Resource
This episode of The Rest Is History, hosted by Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook, examines Britain in early 1974, focusing on the M62 coach bombing and the broader Provisional IRA bombing campaign that brought Northern Irish violence to the British mainland. Sandbrook situates the violence within the gloomy domestic context: high inflation, banking and property crises, the Three-Day Week and industrial strife.
