Treaty of Fort Laramie

The United States guarantees the Lakota the Great Sioux Reservation, including the Black Hills, for their 'absolute and undisturbed use and occupation'. Custer's 1874 gold expedition and the seizure of the Hills made it one of history's most broken treaties.
