The dump-arms order ends the Irish Civil War

Beaten in the field, the anti-Treaty IRA is ordered to dump its arms rather than surrender them — no negotiations, no ceremony, just an end. The Free State survives; the Treaty split goes on to structure Irish party politics for a century.
