The suffragists unite under Fawcett
1897 · Event
Millicent Fawcett unites Britain's constitutional suffrage societies into the NUWSS — the 'suffragists', who will petition, lobby and march within the law for thirty years and grow to half a million members. The militant suffragettes get the headlines; the law-abiding suffragists supply the movement's mass.
