Thousands of Kentish rebels under the pseudonymous 'Jack Cade' occupy London for three days, executing the king's treasurer and demanding the government purge itself. Put down with pardons and then betrayals, it announces the theme of the coming decades: Henry VI's regime cannot keep order.
