Zwingli's reformation in Zurich

The Zurich city council, persuaded by Huldrych Zwingli at a public disputation, votes to break with the bishop and reform the church by law — the first Reformation carried by a city rather than a prince. It also opens the movement's first internal rift, with Luther, over the nature of the Eucharist.
