Tyndale is strangled and burned

The scholar who first printed the Bible in English — hunted across the Low Countries for it — is betrayed, condemned, and executed near Brussels, praying that God open the King of England's eyes. Within four years Henry VIII orders an English Bible in every parish church, largely Tyndale's own words.
