Having circled Europe by sea and land, the pestilence closes its loop and enters Russia from the west — six years after leaving the Black Sea steppe a few hundred miles away — killing Grand Prince Simeon the Proud, his sons and his heir. The great mortality's first circuit of the known world is complete.
