Assassination of Emiliano Zapata

Lured to a hacienda at Chinameca by a colonel feigning defection, the apostle of 'Land and Liberty' is shot dead by an honour guard as he rides through the gate. Carranza gets his rival's body displayed in Cuautla; Morelos gets a saint. Zapata's demand — the village lands back — outlives every government that refused it.
