The Moscow Protocol

1968 · Event

Abducted to Moscow in handcuffs during the invasion, Dubček and his colleagues are worked over for four days until they sign the protocol that unwinds their own reforms — all but one of them; František Kriegel, who refuses, is nearly left behind. They return to a country whose radio they must tell, in breaking voices, that the Spring is over.
