Khrushchev demands a Cuba–Turkey missile trade

A second, harder Khrushchev letter — this one broadcast openly on Radio Moscow — raises the price for ending the Cuban Missile Crisis: the Soviet missiles leave Cuba only if America's Jupiter missiles leave Turkey. ExComm assumes the Kremlin hard-liners have taken over.
