Israel storms the Golan Heights
1967 · Event
With Egypt and Jordan beaten, Israel turns on the last front and takes the Syrian plateau that had shelled its farms for years — the fighting ends with a ceasefire on the sixth day. Israel now holds Sinai, Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Golan: three times the territory it began the week with.
