UN Resolution 242: land for peace

The Security Council unanimously adopts the formula every Middle East negotiation has cited since: Israeli withdrawal from territories occupied in the war, in exchange for every state's right to live in peace within secure and recognised boundaries. A missing 'the' before 'territories' — deliberate — keeps both sides arguing about what it means for fifty years.
