Two years after the Americans left, a probing attack in the Central Highlands turns into a rout: the South's army disintegrates so fast that a campaign Hanoi planned to take two years is over in fifty-five days. It ends with tanks in the grounds of the presidential palace and the last helicopters lifting off the embassy roof.
