Bose raises the Indian National Army

The road not taken by Gandhi: Subhas Chandra Bose — escaped from house arrest, arrived in Asia by German and Japanese submarine — takes command of an army of Indian prisoners-of-war to fight the Raj alongside Japan, proclaiming 'give me blood, and I shall give you freedom'. The INA fails at Imphal, but its post-war trials at the Red Fort ignite the loyalty crisis — including naval mutiny — that convinces London the Raj cannot be held.
