Columbus shipped home in chains

Sent to investigate the chaos on Hispaniola — colonists in revolt, Taínos brutalised, Spaniards hanged by the Admiral's own government — a royal commissioner arrests Columbus and his brothers and ships them to Spain in irons. The sovereigns free him and fund one last voyage, but the governorship of the Indies is taken from his family for good.
