Six weeks after Orléans, the French cavalry catches the English army in open country before its archers can plant their stakes — and Agincourt happens in reverse: the longbowmen are ridden down, some 2,500 killed or taken for trivial French loss, and the English commander Talbot is captured. The road to Rheims lies open.
