The living tank of the last Cretaceous: eight metres of low-slung plant-eater sheathed in bony armour, eyelids included, swinging a tail club that could break a tyrannosaur's ankle. It shared its final world with T. rex and Triceratops — and armour proved no defence against an asteroid.
