The Frank family is arrested

After 761 days hidden in the annex on the Prinsengracht, the eight people sheltering there are betrayed — by whom has never been established — and deported on the last train to leave the Netherlands for Auschwitz. Of the eight, only Otto Frank survives; his daughter's diary, saved by Miep Gies, becomes the century's most-read account of the persecution.
