The Valley of Tears
1973 · Event
On the northern Golan, roughly 100 tanks of Israel's 7th Armoured Brigade fight 500 Syrian tanks for four days and nights, gunners falling asleep between engagements, until the last reserves — including repaired tanks crewed by walking wounded — tip the Syrians into retreat. The valley's name afterwards says what it cost.
